Jenny Nijenhuis


Jenny Nijenhuis obtained a BAFA (Hons) from Wits University in 1993, a PR/Communications qualification in 2000 and completed a Marketing Management programme at Wits School of Business Administration in 2003.

Following a stint in corporate marketing, Jenny established Geneology, an integrated communications design agency based in Johannesburg. In 2011 she scaled down client commitments to set-up studio with a long term vision of becoming a full time artist. In 2015 Jenny held her debut solo exhibition at Lizamore & Associates in Johannesburg and was a PPC Imaginarium finalist. In 2014 she was a Lovell Tranyr Art Trophy finalist.

Nondumiso Lwazi Msimanga


Nondumiso Msimanga completed her undergraduate degree with distinction in Drama at Rhodes University. She went on to earn her Honours with distinction and Masters at Wits University. She has participated in The National Arts’ Festival and Dance Umbrella as a theatre-maker and performer. She is a lecturer, researcher, writer, director, choreographer, performer and theatre-maker. She has taught at Wits University and The National School of the Arts.

Nondumiso continued to pursue her verve for theatrical praxis and research; delivering a paper at the sixth Annual Drama for Life conference, presenting at the NAPTOSA conference, and was invited to Germany for AFFECT at Agora. Her fervor for theatrical critique led her into arts journalism as a features writer for Creative Feel Magazine and freelance arts journalism; writing for a number of papers. Recently, her production Barbed Wire Wallpaper won a Standard Bank Silver Ovation Award at the 2015 National Arts Festival in Grahamstown.

Tanya Pampalone


Tanya Pampalone is a contributing writer for US News & World Report, edits non-fiction for Pan Macmillan South Africa, teaches in the journalism department at the University of the Witwatersrand and is the editorial director of Duke University’s annual media conference in Johannesburg, the Menell Media Exchange. She is also the co-owner of SoMa Art + Space in Maboneng.

SoMa Art + Space, located in the burgeoning arts and culture district of Maboneng in Johannesburg, opened in November 2015. SoMa is an innovative concept in event and exhibition space which aims to make art and artists more accessible.
